About Calgary Artist Vince Wishart
The years have brought Vince where he is today. He spent his first 20 years in Nanaimo, B.C. His Mom was an accomplished potter. His Dad is a phenomenal carver. His uncle is a tattoo artist/owner at Jokers Wild as well a painter of oils. Vince is a highly sought after Tattoo artist in the Calgary Area. He performs his craft from two studios, Blood, Ink and Steel (NE) and Tiki-Town, NW. Vince Wishart enjoys a wide of range of mediums. He was formerly schooled at Malaspina College Nanaimo, BC, Canada. He designed the Drinking Driving Counterattack symbol while in high school. Vince has designed t-shirt designs for large clothing manufacturers such as Zulu Airwear, L.A. Cool, Godly Garments. He has done large scale sculpture commissions for the Stampede Board and Calgary Science Centre. His favorite medium is airbrush. The battle between right and wrong, good and evil, recovery and addiction and individualized spirtualities are a constant theme in Vince Wishart's work. According to Vince, "A new spirituality has emerged in me and for this I am eternally grateful, and my intention is to share this spiritual outlook with you, the viewer." Vince formerly owned and operated a Tattoo shop in Airdrie, Alberta, and currently owns Wish-Art Studios where he specializes in Portraits and Large Japanese. This is where he conducts his fine art endeavers.
